One underlying cosmetic issue that seems to dominate the industry, in terms of the type of treatments that are undergone, is the removal of excess fat and stubborn fatty tissues. If you suffer from unwanted fat pockets that you can’t seem to banish with the usual daily exercise and healthy diet, then there may be another solution that you haven’t considered.
In the aesthetics industry, there are several procedures that you can undergo in order to achieve a chiselled, defined and toned appearance of the body and facial regions. But, the question is, which will give you the best results for longer at the least risk?
As you may already know, Liposuction is one of the most sought out procedures in the world; it represents between a whopping 15% and 20% of all surgeries. Because of this, often, other available treatments aren’t always considered, even though they could be a lot more effective and less risky. That’s where we come in.
Here at Thread Lift Experts, we are fully aware of the complications and downtime that Liposuction comes hand in hand with which is why we wanted to shed light on thread lift procedures. Thread lifts have quickly become revolutionary treatments that deliver impeccable results without the added risk of complications and downtime. But the question is, will you agree that thread lifts are the new lipo?
Liposuction is undergone by a medical professional using a sucking device to rid of any unwanted pockets of fat that are hard to lose through exercise and a healthy diet. Because of this, the most prominent areas to have Liposuction on consist of the buttocks, hips, thighs and tummy.
This invasive surgery is carried out by a surgeon marking up the areas of fat that need to be removed on your body, before injecting a solution containing anaesthetic into the same region. This solution also contains medicine to reduce the risk of blood loss, bruising and swelling.
Once injected, the fat cells are broken up by the use of a high-frequency weak laser that vibrates the problem areas. Then, a small incision is made, and a suction tube is inserted, which is attached to a vacuum machine. If the treated area is large, further cuts may need to be made.
The suction tube is moved back and forth so that the fatty tissues are loosened and easier to suck out. Then, any excess fluid and blood are drained, and the patient is stitched and bandaged, ready for recovery. This treatment can take anywhere between 1 to 3 hours, depending on the size of the problem area.
Although this is an effective solution to eliminating fat, there are many downsides to such an invasive procedure. In terms of downtime, most patients will need to stay in medical care overnight for moderating, and even after this, activities will need to be kept at a halt as the patient will be sore for a matter of weeks.
An elasticated support corset or compression bandages are applied to the area of the body, and these will need to be worn constantly for several weeks after the operation takes place; they are used to reduce swelling and bruising. Antibiotics will also be administered straight away so that infection risks are lowered.
It is recommended that someone stays with you for 24 hours post-treatment so that you don’t react badly to the procedure. Whether you can continue with work duties depends on the size of the area treated and what your job is, but usually, patients will need to rest for a matter of weeks. Strenuous activity cannot be undergone for up to 4 to 6 weeks.
A week post-surgery, stitches are removed, and at 4 to 6 weeks, you should resume your daily activities as usual. However, results are usually not completely noticeable until around six months after the procedure due to the swelling.
The side effects and risks of Liposuction are and are not limited to bruising, swelling, numbness, scarring, inflammation, fluid, lumpy and uneven results, hematoma, changes in skin tone, a build-up of fluid in the lungs, pulmonary embolism and damage to the internal organs.
That is a mighty list, wouldn’t you say? Although Liposuction gives excellent results, is it really worth the risks and downtime that you may go through? See below for why a thread lift procedure may be a more suitable approach to losing your unwanted fat.
As you may already know, thread lifts are usually used for reducing the appearance of excess skin or sagging skin found on the face. Well, what if we told you that they could do the same for areas such as the stomach? This non-invasive treatment is able to return areas of the body to their original state.
During a thread lift procedure, a clinician will insert medical-grade dissolvable threads into the dermis of the skin. Once added, whether they are there to achieve a lifting effect or not, the threads create trauma on the tissues. This trauma caused by the repositioning of the tissues triggers the breakdown of fat cells until they are fully eliminated and flushed out the body naturally.
Lipolysis is breaking down fatty tissues and other lipids that occur due to a chemical reaction with new water compounds. This causes fatty acids to be released naturally and safely, again encouraging weight loss.
What’s better, this treatment is non-surgical, meaning side effects and downtime are at a minimum. Most clients resume their day post-treatment, which only takes around 1-2 hours, depending on the size of the treated area. Side effects are and are not limited to swelling, redness and tenderness; three very temporary effects that aren’t painful.
Comparing the two, do you believe that thread lifts are the new lipo? With less downtime, risks and even more effective and natural results, thread lifts are quickly becoming even more sought out than Liposuction.
